The Upside of Cold

For those who do not know, I really dislike the cold weather unless accompanied by snow.:D There is a Brian Andreas print that says " They drove south one winter until they could stand outside with no coats and we never saw them again. This is a pretty accurate account of my feelings.

However, this morning I saw the good side of the cold. My dogs go out at 5:15. As I sleepily stared at the ground, I saw what looked to be tiny sparkling or twinkling lights. I realized it was the frost glistening and was so pleased. At that moment I glanced up at the sky and saw the exact same sight with the stars gently twinkling above. The cold melted away and I stood in awe of what was beneath and above me. What a glorious way to to start my day!! As for pics, I am not that good and wish I could have that moment in print. At least it is etched in mind.

Have yourselves a grayt day and you may find something special in the most mundance tasks.

Thank you for sharing this- it is a nice way to start the day!

The light here is so pretty in the morning, and I get up a bit before sunrise. The first thing I do is look out the window, and everything is starting to glow.

Bless you, IWIWT, for finding something special about the cold and being up at the crack of dawn. I confess to liking neither so I say, More Power to You!! :clap_1:

Iwish - thank you for this beautiful early morning story!

it's rather cold here in sowal, and it does take some getting used to (we have pretty thin skin around here). I don't really like to be out in the cold, but love being inside by the fire with a book, or a good movie, soup or chili, cozy blanket, etc. And I love winter clothing! And getting up at the crack, and going to bed early...

You ARE up at the crack today!

Only because I couldn't fall back asleep this morning! Though it's not so bad. There's a frost on the roof and the morning light is all hazy and pretty. And there's a nice piece of pumpkin cranberry bread downstairs that has my name on it!

I love B. Andreas quotes, and that is a great one which I had not read. However, I like yours even more than his. :D
