Such an inspirational guy. On March 4, 1993, Jim Valvano was awarded the inaugural Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award at the first annual ESPY Awards. Following is his acceptance speech. He was at the end of his life, battling cancer.

I can't watch this again. He was my hero. If I watch it my laptop will short circuit from the flow of tears. It is so incredible.
