There's No Tooth Fairy and No Free Lunch

New posts
I am a fiscal conservative who walks the walk and talks the talk.

Fiscal conservative means you don't spend money you don't have- a trait coupled with manners that has worked well for me.

The "You Cut" in totality is .017% of the federal budget per the conservative Cato Institute.

Multiply that by 250 and you still don't get to 5%.

I am quoting a study that leading conservatives (American Enterprise Institute, Cato Institute, American Socieity of Military Comptrollers) helped write.

I do not doubt that you are a fiscal conservative and certainly do not doubt your manners. I do question why you seem intent on bashing the tea party movement. While nothing is perfect the tea party people as a rule are at least beginning to talk about the dangers of runaway debt. More than you can say about the democrats or establishment republicans.

The simple fact is that the national government takes in plenty of money. The other simple fact is that the feds are spending far more money than it takes in and the debt is staggering. So spending must be cut and cut back to the level that will give us a balanced budget. We need to stop the infighting and begin the process because every day we delay increases the level of pain that will incur when we finally get the will to face facts.

I still believe in the Tooth Fairy and I am the proud recipient of four free lunches just this week alone!

Life's Groovy!! :;-):

Been busy all week.

Yes, spending should be cut but the tea party folks don't want to make the unpopular choices.

To their defense, no one else does either.

Amazingly the Republican plan will add four times as much to the deficit as the stimulus. This is your own news organization.

FOXNews.com - Budget analysts sees $1.3T deficit this year, a slight improvement that masks problems ahead

"But tax cuts mean higher government deficits, and Thursday's report illustrated that clearly, estimating that extending the entire Bush tax cut package would
at least $3.3 trillion over the next decade ? a huge amount to heap onto deficits already expected to be enormous."

Based on the idea that federal spending must remain at current levels, correct? ;-)

Here's a novel idea. Lets cut the federal budget by 50%. The feds took in 2.4 trillion last year, and under Obama and the democrat congress, they spent, 3.55 trillion. That's not sustainable. If we slash the federal budget across the board by 50%, our federal burn rate drops to 1.77 trillion. Based on current revenue and a federal public debt of 9 trillion (it was 5 trillion just a few short months ago BTY) and assuming economic growth covers interest, we could have all public debt paid off in about twelve years.

First, it's Democratic Congress. Congress is always capitalized and Democrat is a noun.

For every complex problem there is a simple solution that is simple, neat and wrong. HL Mencken
