"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do." -- Ronald Reagan, 1981

Never heard that one before, of course I was a teenager at that time, can you give us
the exact quote, where it was made and context in which he said that?
You used quotation marks which most people would assume you have a direct reference...

Do you remember when Reagan said in a radio interview "We begin bombing the Soviet Union in fifteen minutes." Reagan was basically an idiot. The conservatives loved him because he was the perfect puppet. No brains just a josh darn wonderful uncle fella.

Tree Banger Quarterly in the fall of 1981. He was caught with his pants around his ankles humping a knot in an elm tree. He claimed he was punishing the the tree for being a polluter. I'll bet you didn't know Reagan was an avid environmentalist.

so that's a NO from you on being capable of providing context or authenticity

I owe you an explanation of the context? All I said is that he said it. The context is right there, but since you don't believe me this is the context: he was about to do a radio interview and in doing the microphone test, he thought it was humorous to joke about nuclear war. Did you learn anything today?
