I don't know about other beaches in SoWal, and I have no smart alec remarks to make about them, but BMB is quiet and the people are very respectful. It would be nice if other areas were as good.

Andy I don't think we are suppose to mention BMB,since everyone knows we are the lucky ones to live here. I was reprimanded last week for dropping the 3 letter word BMB......

And that's a shame. The alarmists here are doing no one any favors. Outside of the roving gangs of black thugs raping white girls, the public urination on children, and cars with occupants set ablaze I honestly do not see any difference from previous years.

The sky is falling! It wasn't bad or too busy, I didn't see anything disturbing, just kids having fun and we all know that is apparently frowned upon.

Smart Alec remarks? Everything I posted is the absolute truth. I swear on my mail order degree from the Bill O'Reilly School of Journalism.

We stayed at Seaside a few years ago during Spring Break. We don't venture off 30A so I don't know what it was like elsewhere.
It was busy. But we didn't see bad behavior. Just crowded and made it hard to get coffee for one thing at Amavida. Not a big deal.
But there were problems. Several cars were torched while we stayed there. Don't know if they found out who was responsible. One on the street east of Tupelo at the corner of Grove. The other on Forrest, a little further down. Maybe 2011.
Anyway. The water is too cold so that's the main reason we don't come down. Since we aren't there year round, warm water is our number one criteria now. 30A makes it even better.

Sheriffs Office has moved the mobile command center there as of Monday.

It sits on Seaside property and it looks as if they expect problems. Kids are having back packs searched...

A juv was found w beer and looking to sell it to kids. He also had pot (poppy will condone this behavior), spoke w Seaside Security and problems are coming from kids not staying at Seaside and coming in from PCB and elsewhere.

How much of Seaside is public vs private?

Your fatalist imagination is still overreacting. I never condoned it and you know this. I just don't feel threatened by college kids partying or believe civilization is gasping it's last breath because someone smokes some pot. I hear there was a shooting somewhere last night. I can't wait for the freak out over this.

I am going to call BS on the PCB and elsewhere comment Jeff Mc. You say Seaside Security said it, who was that?

Spring Break brings trouble but for us visiting year after year we take a few precautions.
Beach runner I was at Petsmart across from Pier Park last night at 8:30 and it was almost deserted- the staff was very welcoming of anyone showing up.
It has been fairly quiet so far around seacrest and rosemary.

Yes, during the busy times we hang out from Seagrove at Cafe Thirty-A to Rosemary. Actually another reason we're not there is because due to all of my running, I have bad knees. One of them gave out, and I fell and have a compression fracture in a vertebra in my lower back. Waiting to get a surgery date. But during the wait, I just can't tolerate all that is going on at the beach. Too much pain.
