To SoBe or not to SoBe...

New posts
...that is my question! We have to spend the night in Miami on Christmas Eve before getting on the Love Boat. I thought staying in SoBe would be fun (we have 23 yo and almost 21 yo). We looked online for hotels (I want historic art deco type) and then HMM got on the tripadvisor and read things that made it sound yucky! Please advise me on where to stay! Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm with HMM and his train of thought; I rely on tripadvisor to do my homework for me! Hoping someone on the board can help, though. I'm only here to chat about your vacation...

We are the same way - - totally trust Tripadvisor. Also, check out www.fodors.com
That site also has a fantastic forum. I'm sure you can find immediate answers about hotels.

Sueshore, Fodors IS a great forum to use. I used to post there all the time before we got ourselves a SoWal mortgage and had to give up exotic travelling. (I do have some funny trip reports on there if you have a hankering for France or Italy, though. :funn: ) Just go to the US forum and type in "South Beach hotels" in the search box. You'll come up with lots of good recs.

However, I'm with Kimmi! What are you doing swanning around on a Love Boat when you could be in SoWal for the holidays? :idontno:

Can I just say--I could never afford some of these beautiful places I suggest but I love to dream. :)) I also love to research. I 'm content to live vicariously through everyone's travels. ;-)

You are so good too! I have sent the Tides to HMM. I saw it last night....first thought of the Delano, but they are too proud of their place!!! his place has a late checkout possibility as well! Super!
