The devil tests our faith, never God. We have to guard against him at all cost. Prayer is an avenue well used at times like this but please be assured that God never uses harm to children to test, punish or teach us lessons. I pray a lot now.

Once when my family was on vacation in Florida when I was about 13 and brother and sister were little kids, Mama and Daddy were checking into the hotel. I hadn't been asked to watch the kids, but I just happened to see them both drowning in the pool. I jumped in with my clothes on and saved their lives. Another time at the country club, Mom was talking and lost track of the kids. The lifeguard and I pulled them to safety. From then on, I never trusted Mom with my brother and sister. When I went off to college, I was insanely scared that Mom wouldn't watch bro and sis as closely as I did.

BTW Mama and Daddy didn't drink.

Wow what a life saver you are! If I were your Mom I would be so proud of you! I didn't worry so much about my kids because they were little fish but I feared one of the grand kids would fall in a pool, I never worried about an elevator but who does!
I still have child and family in my prayers as well as Chris and his family. My family's prayers are being answered daily.

Mother has never been proud of me. She has always been jealous of my success.

Yes, that family is in my prayers as well. One reason that Mom is so crazy is that my five-year-old brother was killed by a drunk driver. So I can relate to what that family is going through.

I understand about a mom not not being proud, I have one of those and I don't know why.
We can always make sure other kids don't feel the way we do!
Knowing that your brother's little soul is safe has to be some comfort but I am so sorry for such a terrible loss.
