Tornadoes in Georgia too. I can't remember how many times the TV beeped and a tornado warning alert appeared. Pepper and I were so scared. Hubby is out of town on business, and he was so distraught that he wasn't here for us. I slept downstairs on the sofa near our only room without windows so that if the sirens went off again, Pepper and I could seek shelter.

I am totally exhausted. Long day ahead. Classes 8-11, seminar 11-12, setting up venue for a retirement party for one of my colleages, then hosting the party from 2-4. Oh, then driving contact lenses to Atlanta for our daughter who needs them so she can see while phoographing a wedding in Cleveland, OH. (She is the lead photographer out of a group of 7 photographers. She'd drive down here, but is doing a photoshoot today and is flying to Cleveland tomorrow.)

Thinking of our neighbors to the south. Watched on tv as the tornado moved across the northern part of Birmingham. We have enjoyed many UofL events in the city. It's a lot like Louisville. The zoo, their gardens are wonderful. They are going to need a lot of help there and other parts of the south. I guess donations to the Red Cross, if you can't be there physically? Ellen

My prayers go out to all effected by these tornadoes.

We had them here all last week. Hundreds of houses gone, but thankfully no lives lost, feeling very lucky after viewing the storms from yesterday.

Is the Red Cross the best method to help the victims of any of these natural disasters? Can we designate to a certain area that our donation would go to - if for some reason we are inclined to do that? I'm thinking of our many visits to Birmingham AL. Ellen

Here is a link to info about helping in the Birmingham area.

Sweet Home Alabam

I lived in Northeast Alabama for 50 years before moving to Walton County. I spent last night watching, waiting, praying and trying to contact friends and family. In the light of day, I am releasing a sigh of relief because all my friends and family are OK. To all the people in my Sweet Home Alabama, I am sending checks, thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and be strong!
