Tourist Thieves

New posts
There's a difference between a discussion and attacks/lambasting. Lighten up Francis!

Although I do think Thisnthat is wrong to blame the victim. :whack:

If you start a post blaming tourists and cussing you kind of set a tone BTW.

One thing that hasn't been discussed on this thread is the very nature of living in a vacation area. Probably seventy percent of the people you see are "transients", they aren't going to be here much more than a week. This can alter their behavior, usually for the worse. The other thing to keep in mind is that lots of "things", chairs , umbrellas, even beer coolers, flipflops,Rolexes, are sometimes inadvertent forgotten, for too long

And are considered "abandoned", by some said transients. I doubt I would leave a beer cooler unattended at a bus stop in downtown Atlanta. No one should expect that "paradise" or Watercolor would be any different.

I would like to think a cooler in my driveway is an acceptable place to keep it.

It really just bothers me that people actually steal in general. It is so beneath what a moral person does.

I don't know it was tourists but I'm betting it was.

Chalk it up to experience that no matter where you live people can be animals.

I lost 4 really nice ball caps and a pair of sunglasses in the gulf last summer due to big waves. #blamemothernature

I went out canoeing on Deer Lake on a Sunday, with my girlfriend and a six pack of beer. I watched a low life break my driver's side window, steal my girlfriend's purse, and then proceed to steal every construction tool I had out of my toolbox. Can't blame Mother Nature for that one.

Oh, I forgot to mention, since he took all my tools, I was unable to work and make a living ...sucks, doesn't it...

There is such an uncontrollable lust for Yeti coolers it could have been anyone. People don't want to be shamed for having a short melt time.

Look if it was taken out of a vehicle and placed on the drive way and then forgotten in a drunken stupor. Sorry no sympathy.

However, if it was in the bed of a truck, on a porch (screened or not) then it's a shame and I'd hope the thief gets caught. Unfortunately this sounds like a tourist who saw an opportunity and a trophy to take home. Most locals wouldn't be this stupid as it would draw a lot of questions from friends and acquaintances.

Considering the cost of those coolers I'd be looking into lojack.
