Travel question

I'm bringing my mom with me to Seagrove in Oct. and need to break up the drive. Does anyone have a suggestion on a safe place to stay overnight in AL - around Birmingham or Montgomery?

I have stayed at the Courtyard in the Hoover area of Birmingham....it was nice and safe!
