Beach Comber
Just returned home from the long weekend, here goes.
The hubs and I cannot get enough shrimp and fish tacos at Taco Bar. We tried Pizza Bar this time also and while the pizza was tasty, we were a bit concerned about the shovels used to put the pies in the oven were flour side down on the floor. HMM.
The folks at Butterfly Beach and Kayak were very friendly. We rented a scooter. If you saw a couple of 30 somethings scooting by saying "CIAO!" That was us. We will rent from them again.
I had braced myself for the minefield of chairs and tents left overnight on the sand but still felt disappointed since signs are posted everywhere with requests not to do so. On our evening strolls, I hauled arm loads of beach chairs up against the trash bins but that was the best I could do. Except for a few scraps here and there the beach was mostly free of trash. I did see something that I can't explain, 2 tent frames were on both sides of a marked off turtle nest.
We took up a recommendation of sushi at chops 30a and very glad we did. The bartender and sushi chef were awesome. Sushi was fresh and tasty.
We were too sunbeat to search out fireworks on Saturday but could see and here some.
So that is the sum of it, we will be back in October.
