Some of us weather junkies have been posting about it other places. It has an 80% chance of development but still early. Bobby J did post about the good waves that are en route.

Possible tropical system that could turn into a depression or storm over the weekend from what I've seen and was told by locals. Had one guy mention it yesterday but I thought he was talking about Katia which is a week away supposedly from the Bahamas but they are showing a system in the eastern gulf possibly affecting this area starting tomorrow. Had the owner of the place next door mention it also.

I am issuing a Cat. 5 warning regarding horrific fender benders around the outlet mall and movie theaters this weekend as the beach deprived Labor Day tourists look for stuff to do. Avoid at all costs! Stay home and hunker down until this threat passes.

At least I won't feel bad about staying inside and watching football! Sorry for the tourist who might get wet but we really need the rain.

Local news has the bulk of the rain going to NOLA. Like too much rain. Stopped at Blue Mountain Beach access this afternoon to look at the Gulf- and what do ya know- BobbyJ was there watching the waves!

NWS Mobile-Pensacola put out a special weather statement that says 10-15 inches of rain with higher possible localized amounts over the weekend for their forecast area with the heaviest rains in the forecast for Saturday night. Their forecast area ends at the Okaloosa/Walton county line, so figure y'all are still looking at an interesting weekend even if you're too far east to get that 10-15 inches of rain.

I wish that bad boy/girl/system/storm/cyclone/hurricane/shower would just keep right on turning northwest. I know y'all need it too, but selfishly, I'd like to see Texas get drenched.
