US pays $400 per gallon for gas in Afghanistan

Here's an update on the issue - took a while, but TIME just did a piece on how the high cost of getting gas to Afghanistan is driving up the cost of the war and making it difficult to estimate future costs.

The OMB says the per gallon average is $45 (and figures that each soldier requires 22 gallons a day) - Deloitte figures it will cost $1,000 a day per soldier for gas.

I think the obvious answer is that we need is vehicles that run on pot. No doubt some inventor in California has the prototype in his garage. Afganistan fuel problem solved and the car manufacturers are back in business. America is happy again - well, mellow at least . . . and really, really hungry. ;-)

No, opium - lots of that over there!

Seriously, I see it as more evidence that we need to change how we fight over there.
