My first "real" fishing trip was out of the old Marlboro Marina in 1971. We caught everything short of billfish. No real limits back then either. I still have a photo of my brother and myself sitting on the dock, surrounded by hundreds of Mahi, Spanish, King, Trigger, you name it.

Wow. Amazing photo.

Destin was just a little fishing village when we first went there. Somewhere I have an old photo from the 70's of my husband in front of one of those little buildings that housed a fishing charter service. He was holding up a huge fish caught by someone else, pretending that he had caught it himself.

Speaking of vintage Destin, did any of you know D.Z.?

That pic at the base of the brooks bridge in ft. walton is unbelieveable. Everything looks so clean

I moved to this area in 1963 when the destin bridge was made out of wood! Imagine the abundance of crab and fish back then......................
