I am excited to introduce a new project I am working on to support local business, local agriculture, alternative agriculture enterprises and new entrepreneurs.

The purpose of Walton County ACT (Agriculture and Communities Together) is to link growers, businesses, and citizens for the promotion and development of local products.

I am holding two community meetings in January:

? January 12th, Coastal Branch Library at 1 PM

OR

? January 14th , Walton County Extension at 6 PM

I think many exciting outcomes could happen as a result of this project including:

? A database and/or other methods to facilitate the transfer of locally grown or locally made products to local businesses (restaurants, grocery stores, etc.)

? Farmers markets, community gardens, or other community supported agriculture efforts

? A ?Made in Walton County? marketing campaign

? Educational workshops

? ?.and so much more!

To learn more, to support this effort and to help plan the direction of Walton County ACT, please attend one of the meetings in January.

A flyer is attached, please feel free to share it with others you think may be interested.

Don?t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or other thoughts.
