Walton County Commissioners to hold Special Meeting

NOTICE of SPECIAL MEETING-The Walton County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 8:00 AM at the Walton County Courthouse located at 571 US Highway 90, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
The purpose of this Special Meeting is set an Executive Session on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM to allow the Walton County Board of Commissioners to discuss Suzanne Harris v. Walton County Board of County Commissioners Case No. 11-CA-1027.

At the beginning of the Walton Commissioner meeting, County Attorney Lynn Hoshihara announced the commissioners had just completed a closed executive session meeting to discuss the lawsuit Suzanne Harris brought against the county. Hoshihara said they are not requesting action, but did request another executive session.


Scott Brannon, who is also the TDC Chairman, said he has received complaints about Suzanne Harris continuing to be on the TDC Board. He passed the gavel and made a motion to immediately remove Harris from the TDC Council based on her opposition to the commission and what he says is a violation of the code of conduct. With an ethics complaint against commissioner Larry Jones by Harris, he excused himself. The motion carried 4-0.
