Okay. Recently Robert Nelson stepped down as Chairman of the Walton County Republican Party so he could seek the non-partisan office of Walton County School Board, District 1. While Walton County School Districts election do require you to live within certain geographic boundaries to run for the office, it is a county wide election, and I know, for a fact, that Robert would love to get the support of each and every elector within Walton County.

He has mine but if he lives in Dist. 5, and I don't think he does, I'd rather see him run for County Commissioner. There are other seats up for grabs, however. Hint, Hint.

This school board election is county wide. So everyone can vote for me.

The same goes for the county commission races. Even though you must reside in a district to take office, it is a county wide election. So the people of Paxton will be voting on the representation of Miramar. That is one thing I find frustrating for both the people running and the citizens. Someone could actually lose their district yet still get elected by the rest of the county to be the representative. Just does not seem correct to me.
