This morning's Walton Sun p. A3 has an article entitled, "Downtown Seagrove planners seek community input," which has a sketch of condos and a hotel being on the corner of 30A and 395. It looks as though it would extend from 30A at least to Sandor's. Their will be a community meeting regarding the new "Downtown Seagrove" on Feb 17 at the Seaside Meeting Hall, behind Modica Market, at 5:00pm

The sketch depicts a very blah (bland) building, looking a little like a panama city beach motel. ( I may puke at the meeting, maybe on the drawings if they look anything like the sketch. My doing so would only improve the looks of the building by adding some chunky substances.)

Hi, I appreciate this board.

What about the Seagrove market? And the little gift shop near there on 30-A, Through the Garden or something like that? Would these be consumed by the new plans?

Looking at the rendering, it is like I said, "It will extend from 30A, north, at least to Sandor's." My guess is that the gift shop will be gone too. Of course that is only my interpretation of an artist's rendering. I will know more after the meeting, if I can stomach my way though it.

The article says that the market will be leveled and then rebuilt exactly as it is.

If you mean the gift shop "Pickets" - I don't think it will extend over that far.

Surley there would be enough pressure from residents not to put some POC up! SJ, throw some of your high powered influence around and get this thing fixed.

The meeting is only a "Community Meeting" to pitch there property, but it is all fluff. The developer would not let a few noisy locals stop anything. Heck, look at the Grayton Grand.

Reminder for any locals or interested folks in the area tomorrow: "Downtown Seagrove" meeting will be held Thursday, Feb 17, at 5:00pm at the Seaside Community Center, located behind Modica's.
