I took my daughter to Charleston yesterday to the Warped Tour '06. Here are some observations and experiences. Kimmi..I Know you experience things like this quite often (Pride Parade...etc...) but for me it was enlightening and funn! Bang head heavy metal, hard rock emo screamo music. 51 bands that tour the nation include Senses Fail, From Autum To Ashes, Silverstein, Thursday, Emery and the headliner Underoath.

1. Standing in line at 10:30 in the morning in the heat.
2. Fair grounds ..set up with 6 stages, 1000's of booths
3. Every color of hair, brilliant blue, hott pink, and just when I was wondering where the June grass hair was...a guy rides by on a bike with green hair and a naked doll baby in the basket.
4. Spiked hair, checkerd hair, tiger hair
5. More tats than I have ever seen in one place (and tits... )
6. More body piercings than I have ever seen in one place
7. Rain on and off, no one caring if they get wet or not.
8. More music than I have heard in one place at one time
9. Blown up comdoms (extra large) floating around like derigbles
10. Men with make up
11. Fashion as a means of total self expression including guys wearing girls jeans, and tons and tons of pants around the hips with all colors of boxers exposed:funn:
12. Mosh pits that turned to mush pits due to the rain and mud
13. Hurley, whirley birds...hard core dancing...stay clear!!!
14. Walking and walking and walking
15. Learning not to stand in the crowd while watching a band perform...things get thrown
16. Realizing that beer makers have made special bottles for these events...plastic , because they get thrown into the crowd...the more popular the band ..the more bottles thrown (I imagine there were many a concussion prior to plastic  )
17. Watching people get transported from arm to arm up in the air to the front of the crowd...takes blind faith to do that!
18. Long hair, short hair, no hair and no care
19. Heat heat and more heat!
20. Drinking 3 bottles of water and not having to go to the bathroom because I have sweated it out...
21. Watching a group of people throughy enjoy every moment of the day.
22. More spikes, nails, metal and black clothing than I have ever seen in one place
23. Seeing people that are comfortable with themselves so much that they can experss their individuality
24. The only form of bodily self expression that I do not like is the HUGE hole in the ears lobes....  and triple
25. Seeing some really cute guys (Kaiboo's word...hott) and realizing that the apple does not fall far from the tree...we have the same taste...good or bad??? (cept too young for me)
26. Realizing that I like long hair, some tats and limited piercings on guys.
27. Realizing that I like some of the music
28. Enjoying the fact that my daughter is having a good time AND she is having it with ME!
29. Enjoying the fact that my daughter is telling people that she has a really cool mom....
30. Counting up how many free CD's Kaiboo got (16 and 2 that she bought)

All in all it was a great day!
I hope to get her to a Swaunee Springfest...or Fallfest (if there is one) some day. I have not been to one, keep me informed please JR, but I think we would have funn!
Final thoughts on the day:

Tickets to Warped Tour...$70
Gas...$40
6 bottles of water, 1 gatorade, 5 chicken on a stick, 1 egg roll, 2 pieces of pizza...$35
A tee shirt and a CD...$20
Having a wonderful day and seeing your daughter happy...PRICELESS!!!! (mom was pretty happy too)
