A Rolex to wear while he swims? :idontno:
Good Lord man!
On that subject, the lovely SoWal waters are now home to maybe a couple of thousand worth of my wife's jewelry ;-) I believe she's finally learned not to wear the stuff inna ocean

I have had the same watch since I was in my mid 20's. It's waterproof and works great. When we went to Mexico everybody said don't take nice jewerly so I bought a "water resistant" watch. I'm so used to wearing a watch when I jump in the water I didn't think twice about it and jumped in..... It crapped out  . The thing is on the back of the watch it states "water resistant to 168 feet" So I'm thinking waterproof :idontno: ...:nono1: Not so.

From Target, my little purring p***y cat?

My brother has a Tag and I will be the first to say it's a fab watch. When our condo starts bringing in the $$ I'd love to get him one! But in the meantime, a "holdover" will have to do.

So now I'm confused--why do watches say "water resistant to 100 meters (for example)--if they're allergic to more than a little bit of water? Who showers in 100 meters of water? We want to go swimming. Cheap swimming.

Mermaid, do you have Kohls in Indiana? Pulsar and Citizen make water resistant watches that I'm sure can be worn to swim in. Mine is a Citizen tank watch and I wear it to the pool, swimming and to the beach with never a problem. Kohls always has great sales and you can get a very nice watch for a good price.

Great idea, Pancake Head!!!!

As a kid, I recall diving into the pool after getting a brand new watch. I don't remember there being water proof watches back then. If you want a Tag, I will sell you mine. I hate the thing, but it will cost you well over $100.

I swear by my Timex Ironman watch. "Shock Resistant - Water Resistant 200 meters." I rarely take it off my wrist. It loves water, but as with most of these watches, somewhere in the instruction book, it encourages users not to press the buttons when submerged. The Timex watches are sporty, and most importantly, cheap. The good ones vary from $30-$70. You can get metal, rubber, or synthetic cloth bands. They feature a timer, stopwatch, and alarm in addition to time and date. Some will have extra gadgets like altimeters, etc, but they will cost a bit more. If the shininess wears off, which happens after 2-3 years of daily wear, just buy another one.

Another Timex Ironman fan here. I've worn them since my college swim team days, (sometimes five hours in the pool a day while wearing the watch) and they're cheap and pretty much indestructable. The only reason why I'll buy a new one every couple of years is to get a couple more features.

Yes, we do have Kohls. In fact, I bought a Citizen watch there for myself ten years ago and it was great until I ran over it with the car. I might watch the sales and get one for myself (I am partial to tanks like yours) to go swimming with. After all, if sweetie can get a new beach watch, so should I! Or better yet, it could go on my Christmas list.
