We Beach Ladies Can Relate To This, I am sure.

Now that someone has dared to bring up the subject of body hair, it really is interesting to me how attitudes have changed. I remember when women thought that men with hairy chests were sexy. Now people my daughter's age think it's gross and that men with chest and back hair should have it waxed. I guess she's brainwashed me into that opinion, too. Also, girls my daughter's age shave everything except what's above the neck (although keeping the nose and ears depilated), and I guess I've followed that trend, too. Yet years ago I remember that one of the things I dreaded most about labor and delivery was getting shaved. My dermatologist in ATL even advocates women shaving their faces to exfoliate and reduce wrinkling. I refuse to do that.

Sorry ladies didn't mean to imply that this had actually happened to me! I am so glad it hasn't. It was emailed to me. I just thought it was so funny I had to share with all of you!!!!!

But but but this HAS happened to me! Old cheapie me decided to do her own waxing and the story is pretty close to what you related. Needless to say, I put myself in the hands of professionals now. Some experiences are priceless; others are best paid for.

Woo Hoo to the Who-Ha!!!! KD and co.,you brought me to tears!!! .....

Tears! Me too. I couldn't see through my glasses! :floor:

I don't usually read the really long jokes like that, but kept reading this one.

You've got me plugging that "40 Year Old Virgin" movie again - one of the funniest scenes is when Steve Carell gets persuaded to have his chest waxed. A must-see for any guy who ever wondered what torture we gals endure in our pursuit to be hair-free!

You are my kind of laugher....this was one that needed the warning I give to my friends..."Go Tinkle before I tell you this!!" They are kind enough to warn me as well....sometimes! They now sell pads for this condition..."Serenity", I think! They sell those for menopausers like me, so we don't feel "left" out in the feminine aisle! AS IF!!!!

Here is the Glitter Story....FUNNY!!!

I was due later that week for an appointment with the gynaecologist, when early one morning I received a call from his office saying that I had been rescheduled for early that morning at 9:30 AM. I had just packed everyone off to work and school and it was around 8:45 already. The trip to his office usually took about 35 minutes so I didn't have any time to spare. As most women do, I'm sure, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So I rushed upstairs, threw off my dressing gown, wet the washcloth and gave myself a wash in "that area" in front of the sink, taking extra care to make sure that I was presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room only a few minutes when he called me in. Knowing the procedure, as I am sure all women do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended I was in Hawaii or some other place a million miles away from here. I was a little surprised when he said,

"My... we have taken a little extra effort this morning, haven't we?" but I didn't respond.

The appointment over, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day went normal, some shopping, cleaning and the evening meal, etc. At 8:30 that evening my 14 year old daughter was getting ready for a school dance, when she called down from the bathroom,

"Mom... where's my washcloth?" I told her to get another from the cabinet. She called back,

"No, I need the one that was here by the sink. It had all my glitter and sparkles in it."

Chest hair = ok
Back hair = no, it should be waxed

imo

Reminds me, we went to the lake for a weekend with two other couples. On saturday morning we were getting ready to go out on the boat and couple #2 was missing. We were joking that they might just need a minute of alone time  So we waited patiently. Then the two of them step from the bathroom, the men gave approving looks, us two women snickered at our friend to which she replied... "Give me a break, I was shaving his back"
 I will never forget that!
