Beach Comber
Thanks so much to those who helped me with all the rental confusion I was dealing with. We ended up renting in Old Florida Village directly across from one of the pools. It was an absolutely perfect week. This was our very first family vacation and we plan on making a trip somewhere from here on out. Part of me thinks it's best to explore several places over the next few years but a bigger part of me just wants to go back to Santa Rosa beach every year for the rest of my life :). I seriously don't know how a beach vacation could get any better while still being in the states. What do you guys think? I'm going to try to attach pictures of our stay. Thanks again for you input and Paula, I hope you get to read this :). boys_dad.jpgboys_mom.jpgIMG_3367.jpgIMG_3370.jpgIMG_3575.jpgjames.jpg
The last pic was taken in Seaside after the play James and the Giant Peach. I had checked the events calendar beforehand and realized it would take place the last day of our vacation. It was my favorite book as a child and I've read it to my boys several times. We brought our copy and had all the cast sign it. It was a pretty magical way to end the vacation.

Fantastic! We agree! Paula is one of our best beach ambassadors and most of her work has been done from Michigan about family vacations.

Thanks for posting the great pics. And thanks to all who responded to your thread asking for help! That's what SoWal is all about.

Hey Twins Plus One! What a beautiful happy family you have. Thanks for taking the time to post the photos. And I'm so happy your vacation turned out so great because you sure hit a few bumps trying to find a place. Your persistence (and kindness) in your emails certainly paid off. Stay on the SoWal board community and you can now help others when they need help getting to know the area now that you're an experienced vacationer here! I fell in love with the area in 2003 and continue to fall more in love with it every time we get to SoWal. Kurt is right, I live my fantasies about the SoWal lifestyle from afar in Michigan, but we do get to go to the beach in SoWal several times a year and each time is wonderful. It never gets old, it only gets better and you'll find you start longing for those trips to the beach more and more over the years! What's nice is that your children will have such great memories of the beach, and it will start to feel like a home away from home each time you return. Our children are now 19 and 21 and they've spent the last 10 years visiting SoWal and the memories get sweeter and sweeter as the years go by. Congrats on a successful first SoWal vacation!

Thank you for sharing. You have a beautiful family. I wish we could get even more trip reports on this site. Yours put a smile on my face and, I'm sure, on many others.
