There is an estimate that 85 million was spent on the Obamas vacation( that is on the high side) but that said three months of Melania staying in her Golden Towers cost the taxpayers the same amount of the whole eight years of the vacations taken during the Obama presidency. It’s being reported now that she will not be moving to the White House. Unprecedented! This doesn’t include the lead up to the inauguration when Trump used the Golden Towers for his transition because he likes to ‘sleep in his own bed’. NY taxpayers were mostly on the hook for that. His hotel made a hefty profit though- at taxpayers’ expense. The taxpayers will also have to pay for the ‘Winter White House’ in Florida, where Trump is now taking two days off.
