My feeling on this is that more likely than not, the policeman neglected his duties. His duties were to engage in a suicide mission in order to save children from harm, and it looks like he failed. That being said, it's not the job of the Chief executive of the United States to draw definitive conclusions and apply definitive labels with incomplete knowledge of the facts. It's irresponsible for someone at his level to get that involved. Obviously it was red meat for the deplorables. This of course has been our "leader's" modus operandi since long before he became president, so no one should be surprised.
