You’re trying to defend taking advantage of being the beneficiary of a govt. financed program while denying the same to others.

To be fair Lou doesn't pay his employees correctly or legally so probably didn't qualify for PPP loans. It only covered W2 wages.

Then they offer to make a percentage payment to retain each employee to pay them for the time they were forced to take off. Key word being employee
You pay that money to the employee so the employee can survive
Companies like mine do not pay people not to work

Let me know how this is even remotely comparable to paying off loans that people personally took out
How would you handle kids that didn't go to college because they didn't want to or couldn't take on the debt?
How about kids that went right to work?
Or the thousand other scenarios that make this a terrible idea
