Nope, what I did was rewarding and satisfying much of the time. Now I bask in the afterglow of of the solid foundation I've built for myself and am free to pursue whatever captures my fancy for an additional 8 hours each day. One of the greatest ballplayers of all time, Ty Cobb, didn't miss the game at all once he had retired. Too bad you don't have that kind of legacy to look back on, because I know it means so much to you.

So lets say you are around 50, you're too young for the full time golfing crowd, you're too old for the bar crowd, you're not wealthy enough for the elites and most of your friend are still working, lets say you have enough money to travel for half the year, how long before the shine wears off of that, You have too much energy left for taking it easy. The only way to find happiness is to be on a endless wanderer but we know thats not happening because of your time on here.

I'd even go further and say you got into some kind of government job while you were super young. Decent to good pay on the back end of your career. Made some decent investments and a good pension

I hate golf, I will never be too old for the bar crowd, even if I decided to totally quit drinking. Clearly you are envious due to your probing insinuations. You simply want for all the negatives you point out to be true. I don't spend a whole lot of time stressing over my or anyone else's masculinity. Obviously you are hung up on yours and everyone else's. I totally intend to thrive and grow until I die, but work simply won't be a part of it. No, the truth is, most people can't stay retired due to poor financial planning. Again, you clearly don't get it.

As to the last comment, they told you when you got to pro ball that if you gave it your all and came up short you would be at peace with the game and they were 100% right
