Well....... Today Is My Last Day Working For "The Man"

New posts
Well, the short of it is that RiverOtter used to be Whitey, aka- The Man. Then, one day, he thought about how tough it is to be Whitey, so he sold out to a bigger Whitey. When he did, Bigger Whitey, said, hey, we don't know how to run this ship. You will have to stay on for a while, but we will be Whitey. The check was green, but in the confusion, RiverOtter suddenly realized that he was no longer Whitey. Whitey was now the Boss. :bang: RiverOtter was just a pee-on, instructing other pee-ons. Whitey was giving the orders. Now, they are saying thank you to RiverOtter, setting him free for pretending to be Whitey for a year, while taking a beating in the back room from the real Whitey.

... or something like that. :floor:

Some parts are true, some are a bit of a stretch

Well even if it was partially fiction, it was a good read, which I love.

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. Yes, this was planned. I have been in the same career for 20+ years. I am ready for something new. I have nothing bad to say about my previous employer. In fact if it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to take this leap. I will give out more details as things pan out

Well you have my admiration. My husband after 19 years with the same company is trying very hard to break away, but without success. :bang:

Best of luck to you with your new adventures.

Wishing you the best, RO. There's a leadership writer who talks about "deep change" as being like "walking naked into the land of uncertainty".... hmmmm, it's a thought. And that deep change is like "building the bridge as you walk on it." Hope you enjoy the transition.
