What Are We In For!?

Beach Comber
Boyfriend and I are Grad Students and older. Not into the crazy undergrad thing anymore. Family owns a condo in Seagrove Beach and we visit for two months a year but have never been down this time of year. Headed down for the 15-24th of this month. What should be expect?

Just discovered this board and love it already! Thanks for any help!

I think the week after that is the biggest. I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what. Seagrove may be busy but there are plenty of relatively quiet spots. If you've never been to Eden State Gardens is is spectacular this time of year. Check out the parks!

Don't expect any quiet time on the beach. Do expect crowds at the popular eateries and shopping venues and slow travel on 30a especially.

Seagrove Beach will probably put you (depending on location of condo, of course--I live on the east end) in with more of the families with children than the crazy undergrad party scene while on the beach. If you prefer a little more peace and quiet, I'd check out the beach access at Deer Lake State Park, which is beautiful and usually quite peaceful. Eateries will definitely be busy, but if going out for dinner remember that earlier is better to avoid crowds--majority of groups will stay on the beach 'til dusk and then go home to get changed before going out. Sidewalks will be full of bicycles, but most are pretty polite about sharing the path. And the sunsets are always beautiful that time of year so, really, how bad could it be? Come on down, and enjoy!

Oh, and by all means, come see us at the Seagrove Village Market while you're here... or better yet, call in and order it to-go (from me, of course)!
