last three songs including currently playing

Hall and Oates----Sara Smile
Warren Zevon----Carmelita
Widespread Panic----Travelin Light

You know, of course, that Steely Dan almost completely disown that first album. They found their sound around "Countdown to Ecstasy" and "Aja". "Two Against Nature" is darn good too.

It may not have been their trademark sound, but I think their first album was as good as any. They had David Palmer singing on Dirty work and Brooklyn. He had the sweetest voice.

My favorite song on that album is Kings. I pretty much like everything Steely Dan did. I like this version of Brooklyn, (without Palmer), even though it sounds too fast.

Yesterday as I was driving for four hours, I was listening to The Heat On Sirius XM. They have Throwback Thursdays with hip hop and rap from the 90's and 2000's. 50 Cent, Luda, Ja Rule, DMX, Ying-Yang, Ciara, Kanye, Justin, T.I., etc. It entertained me while dealing with the traffic. My old running music.

My favorite SD cover:

I'm sorry , but I didn't understand a word you said. I'm somewhat dated , but the stuff we listened to in the sixties, seventies, eighties, I think will endure better than much of what came after that. Just my opinion.

If rap and hip hop had been around 50 years ago, I don't think people today would be spending hundreds of dollars on remastered box sets of music they already have. Maybe this genre just needs a good British invasion. Rap needs to be more Floydian. A rap version of "Breathe" or "Comfortably Numb" would be nice.
