At this time of the year, when we should all count our blessings, what are you most thankful for? Other than the obvious, family, health, career... that I love! I'm most thankful for my adorable and healthy grandson, Jake!

atrazine, 25 year shingles, cookbooks, ssri tea, bounce flash, weber grill, Sowal, and family!!!!!

Big D successfully made it through two major surgeries since last Thursday and is home for Christmas. We hope to go to the beach next week.

JP has brought so much life-changing happiness to our daughter, and they will be married in June.

My Mom went from a deathbed in April to fussing about moving back to her home this month (we're working out the logistics).

The fact that I have to actually think about what is NOT incredibly blessed in my life. Grandma Scooterbug and I were talking about just how good our family has it. You won't see us in a gossip column/tabloid or some VH1 excess special, but as they say, "enough is as good as a feast" - especially considering how rough the last year has been (and is) for many.

I woke up in a paid-for house w/ heat and running water, had a yummy breakfast with both my (still married and loving) parents, wrapped presents that I didn't have to worry about how to pay for, decorated cookies (outdid myself with the chocolate sprinkles as twig arms and smiles on the snowmen), hung ornaments on the tree, talked to Scooterbro, had a nice dinner, talked to friends and relatives on the phone, then went outside and threw for the dog in a neighborhood where I could walk outside after dark w/o any worries.

Seriously, the dog sheds too much, I hate cockroaches, and Mama Scooterbug's snowboots (that I put on so I could throw for Scooterhound while I drink a good red wine and have snowflakes falling in my eyelashes) are a size too small.......................not bad to have as the only negatives in my lil' world right now.

Now, I have to go - Scooterhound is apparently feeling more negative and her ball is NOT being thrown quickly enough!

I am thnkful that the nausea from yesterday has finally dissipated. And, very thankful for my charmingly supportive, nutty family. I've been at crossroads before and decided the wrong path it seems, then too late to turn back. So, I made the best of if, had fun and met some crazy people along the way, learning a lot of lifes' lessons. I am thankful for the good, the bad and the ugly. And, grateful for my faith and love for family and friends, what I learn from my animals and that I am a trusting soul. Merry Christmas, All Y'all!!
