We usually come for 2 weeks in August but my folks are wanting to make their first trip to Seagrove this year and they like to vacation in May or June. We are looking at the first week of June, 5/30-6/6 (after Memorial Day week) or the 2nd to last week in May, 5/16-5/23 (come home the Sat of Memorial Day weekend).

I'm not sure how crowded the Seagrove area is during this time of the year or if one of these weekends would be better than the other so I thought I'd ask the experts.

My mom was looking at bringing her dogs and staying a month but she's decided she thinks that's too long from home. I think after she sees how much better 30A is than Destin that she'll go ahead with the one month plan next year!

Thanks ahead for your recommendations!

Rates are cheaper in May, yet it's not as crowded because school isn't out yet.

Mid season rates and spring weather, and not crowded until about the 10th of June. Perfect time to come down here. The water may be in the low 70's and a bit cool to swim but it doesn't bother some people. Once your blood thins from living in Florida, the water temp isn't right until it hits 80 degrees!

Anytime is always a good time but in my opinion, like the posts before me...earlier is better. Get there prior to the June grass moving in.

I think that spring and fall are the perfect times to be in Sowal, as the weather is warm enough to be at the beach and active outside, but cool enough so you aren't all sweaty. The prices are lower, it's less crowded, and the pace is slower.

We have been going to the Panhandle at the beginning of June for several years now. About a week or so after my husband finishes with school. It is not as hot but you can still get in the water. You can walk in the sand without burning your feet:-) There are fewer people. Wish we could go a week or two earlier when it is cheaper, but he teaches and I think they base the rental season on Louisville's school calendar, as both have changed over the years and continue to mirror each other.
We are splurging this year - we are going to stay 1 week after Xmas and TWO weeks at the beginning of June next year. I thought I had allowed enough time, but alot our city was without power for a week, so now, school will go to the Mon. before our Sat. departure. (Actually Fri. departure. We like to drive through the night.) And we haven't gone through winter yet. We close school here if snow is spotted in TN. I think Kroger bribes the weather guys to go overboard with their forecasts.

I think you are right.

Home Depot does it here when there is a small rainshower off the coast of Africa.

This pretty much sums it up. May is a wonderful time and it's virtually deserted prior to Memorial Day. The traffic driving down and back will also be a breeze compared to other parts of the year if you come in May.

Also if you can wait I would as you'll probably get a good deal. Usually doesn't get too booked up during that time unless you are especially picky and then you should book now.
