Walk the walk,

Spoken like a true conservative. Glenda posted an article citing what the American people want- based on actual quantitative research. Without regard to the article, you post what *you* think the American people want- which is actually just what you want.

Do you have any thoughts to share about the article?

In regard to "spoken like a true consevative", I think the American people expressed what they want much loader and much clearer in the recent election than what some poll by a left leaning news network proposed. Then the results of that poll "explained" by an extreme left journalist on an extreme left website. The opposite of Fox News which definitely leans right. It sometimes appears that there is no common ground for agreement here in this forum.

I think the CBS poll is accurate - jobs and the economy are the number one issue. This is the main reason the democrats got thrown out of Congress. If republican don't heed this (they knew it back before the election, don't change the subject!) they'll be next on the chopping block.

On the Bush tax cuts, conservatives claim that preserving the tax cuts for the rich is a matter of grave national importance that must not be separated from preserving the middle-class tax cuts. Once again, the public?s view is far from that of conservatives. Sixty-four percent of respondents in a recent CNN poll either want to keep only the tax cuts that apply to families earning under $250,000 a year (49 percent) or think all the tax cuts should be eliminated. Just 35 percent endorse the idea that all the tax cuts should continue regardless of how wealthy families are.

50% of the country wants tax increases... on somebody else. On the flip side 35% want the tax cuts to be extended for all (I assume these are the tea party/cut spending types), and 15% think the tax cuts should expire (people who have jobs they're convinced they won't lose in a double dip recession?)

Nailed it Andy! November made a huge statement to Washington, now we will see if they listened.

I think Americans want to eat cake, not have to pay for the ingredients and ***** about the regulatory constraints of the recipe.

Ugh.

CBS poll asked what people wanted and provided us with those answers. The poll wasn't partisan in nature nor were the results. The reporting was objective.

Original poster shared the results of what Americans want based on the poll. Contrary to the article which provides quantitative findings, Walk the walk rehashes what he thinks Americans want- based on what?

Andy, it's not my job to educate you  but you could really learn a lot from 30aShopper who put politics aside and took the article and the data for face value.
