I am 51 and I am not embarrased. Thanks for the nice words. I am a crazy dancing fool! Especially to Dread. I just can't keep my feet still. My kids think I am pretty funn-y!

Yes Gypsea is a Grandmom, but I married her when she was 12, she had her son at 13, and he was married at 15, had our grandson at 16..... that would make Gypsea "29" (do you think they'll believe me, hon?)

As for me, The Cap'n is a "time traveler". I was actually born in 1592. In 1610, I was a midshipman aboard the HMS Smithly. She went down north of the Lofotens (at the arctic circle). I was frozen instantly and the wreckage drifted further north, and wasn't discovered until 1976, the year that Gypsea was born (see my last post above).

Reborn, if you will, on the 200th Anniversary of the United States, I was defrosted and electrified by a top secret NASA research team that had been laid off after the Apollo program. I was immediately enrolled in the Naval Academy in Annapolis, so they could keep a close eye on me. After graduation, it was natural to go back to sea (and it was great that I could still fit into my old uniform). A few years later I met Gypsea, at a keg party for wandering beach lovers. She loved the uniform, I loved her AVATAR, and we were married within days.

The honeymoon lasted for a month and we settled down in NOFLA, near SOWAL. The day we moved in to our first house, we were hit by a hurricane, and have been charmed by whirlies ever since.

What's amazing about this story is how much of it is actually true! Age is an attitude!!!

Guess so far I am the oldest - 53 - but I managed to snag myself a younger husband as well (only 4 years) but I can't wait until he finally hits 50 as well. He likes to remind me that I am in my 50's while he is still in his 40's.

i am with you - my hubby is 3 years younger, and i despise the fact that i hit all the milestones before him as everyone knows since i *&^%$ about it constantly, i will be 40 in may.

Once you turn 40, you get to subtract a year instead of adding one.

I turned 52 earlier this month (If I count back from 40 then that makes me 28, right?). My husband is 4 years younger and our kids are still quite young. Had my first child at 39 and my second at 41. I really like being an "older" parent.

my mom had me when she was 25 and my sis when she was 35 and she said there was a huge difference in terms of wear and tear on her body, but she liked being an "older" parent too. said things just didn't bother her as much and felt like she enjoyed it more, i guess appreciated it more too. my sister was truly a gift - esp. for me - i just love that girl
