Most school send coaches or athletic department reps (usually male) to scout/visit the prospects and save any hotties (if they use them) for campus visits.

Traveling hostesses is apparently stepping it up quite a notch, which is why they are being investigated.

I don't see what the big deal is. I would not think it illegal for them to go attend a game to watch potential recruits if they did not approach them during or after the game. And as for the one who states they held up signs saying come to Tennessee, I don't believe that one bit. I would have to be shown some physical proof of that. They are always looking for any type of dirt they can on Tennessee.

A college sending whores hundreds of miles to entice recruits? Um, why do you think that SHOULDN'T be investigated?

A friend of mine was a "Gator Getter" at UF. Attractive female undergrads were asked to host athletic recruits, and she accepted. There were very strict rules regarding behavior and dress. She likes to flirt, but not interested in more than that for many reasons.

this sort of thing has been going on since the beginning of time.
i'm not sure about the hostess traveling aspect, but i'm sure it happens more often than we think.

Which is why Erma refers to motherhood as the world's second oldest profession.

What is wrong with trying to emphasize the student in student-athlete? Bearing in mind a college athlete has a 7% chance of going pro.

I think all schools border on what is legit and not; regarding sports. Tennessee is just under the radar right now, because Kiffin is outspoken and went to a bowl game his first year. He is making others nervous.

Next week, it will be some other school.

It's hard to imagine it not being like that. You've got to provide incentive. At that age, well, need I say more?

Incentives?

You mean like the free education that saves them tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, the free lodging and food, the clothes, the tutors, and the travel?
