What's the deal with the Watersound Condo's Lawsuits?

September 10th a lawsuit was filed by the Watersound Condo's as Plaintiff and there must be 30 Defendants in each suit. Does anyone know the Cause of Action(s) in these cases? What's going on?

I know they were only recently converted from Flying Freeholders to Condominiums, but I don't know what that would have to do with any of this. It looks like the Defendants are any entity who has an interest in the units. It's looks like it's all the condo's at Compass Point and Crossings. ????

Not sure if this has any relevance. But I do know that the "conversion" has not yet been finalized because of some owners not signing on yet. And apparently most lenders will not do mortgages on the Flying Freehold properties after all the mortgage mess.

One Defendant I did not see listed was Dale Putz who was acting as HOA rep. last I checked. Other than Dale, it looks like there are a load of Defendants in this.

I was pretty sure that the conversion was completed and Deeds transferred on Jan 16, 2008.

As of mid-August, the conversion had not been recorded by the county yet because they were waiting on signatures. People in the know said that they expected to have it all "cleared up by October." This is what I was told.

But I'm still not saying this is what the lawsuit is about. I have no idea about that.

On SJ's suggestion, I called the clerk of courts office. Talked to a nice lady there. She found a lawsuit filed on 9/10 related to Compass Point. She said the filing was over a hundred pages long "because of all the exhibits." But what she could get out of it was that it has something to do with "common areas" and was related in some way to the conversion from the Flying Freehold to Condo. She said it was too long to read over the phone and was not on the internet, but I could order it for a fee. I declined.

She suggested I contact the plaintiff attorney, Gary Shipman, to get more details. So I called his office and spoke to his assistant, Charlotte. She said that Mr. Shipman was out of the office until Monday, and he would have to answer any questions in the matter.

Sorry I could not get more.
