cherished possession(s)? Since we painted our Living Room/Dining Room, I have started a little mini re-decoration. I'm also thinking of having a garage sale soon, so I've been weeding out some stuff that I had in storage, re-purposing some other stuff, moving stuff around and cleaning out. I have discovered that some stuff I thought I couldn't live without has lost it's charm. But, there are a few simple things that I would never part with--some of them really tiny and that would be insignificant to anyone else. For instance:

Stained glass of whales that a friend made for me many years ago.
Horseshoe crab shell ()
Assorted dishes that belonged to my mother

Assorted paintings by Mr. DD's mom

Photo of me and Nick Price

Kids locks of hair from when they were babies

There's tons more.

What about you?

Toll painting, china painting and crewel projects that my Mama made are hanging my kitchen. The strawberry bowls from her Strawberry days. The list goes on and on and on....just ask my kids. : )

I have some of the teeth that my kids lost and put under their pillows when they were young> I got to play the tooth fairy. I still have my first set of cuff links that my dad gave me when I made my confirmation. Also my collection of crystal shells from the Glass shop in Seaside.

Collection of Kaleidoscopes, necklace from Daddy, baby ring from Daddy that is now a toe ring, beautiful B&W photo of Daddy when he was a young man and I look just like him, old B&W photo of my family before I was a thought, music collection, Sweet Pea and Cowboy, books I purchase in other countries, many of which I can't read. And, this one is kinda' strange, but I have the metal plate and screws that was surgically removed from wrist after my body rejected it......it's pretty wild looking.

My red '66 Mustang
My rare Kramer 8 string bass
and in the same vein as Lynnie...a prosthetic cheekbone removed from my right cheek due to an infection (my whole face was rebuilt in '83)!

A "stained glass" hand painted bug mobile that the kids created during Hurricane Katrina of the 2005.

A painting by Nancy Drew that I bought after my father died, a small dish that a family friend of husband gave me when we got married, paintings my children did and their handmade cards, two crystal dishes that were my mother's and my father's shot guns. There are some other items, but not too many. Oh, a sweet necklace that my hubby gave me when we first started dating:wub:

Pretty glass pieces that were my Great-Gran's, wedding china tea set, pictures, my remaining jewelry (most was stolen when our house was robbed a few years ago), 2 small touristy paintings purchased in France, an original watercolor from a street artist in New Orleans, some flip flops that are just too cute!

I don't really have any one special item, but I do have a house full of stuff that I will never part with - because of who made it or what it is a souvenir/reminder of.

Most of my stuff is family stuff that was passed down the line, was made for me, is artwork done by a family member, or is a memento from a trip.
