I woke up in the middle of the night and thought, "You know, I haven't seen Mermaid on the board lately. I'll have to pm her." But I never got around to it. Hope she's okay.

She just called- she's "squatting" on somebody's beach service chair at Grayton, watching Merman and Merboy in the kayaks using the pink paddles!

OMG, I have four new preps - G?del/Escher/Bach (I know the math, and I was an art history minor at the college formerly known as Sophie Newcomb, but I'm teaching myself music theory), a new PHP/MySQL/web design class, automata theory, and a calculus class with a calculator crutch. I have to lower myself to learning how to use a TI-89 since kids don't learn analytic geometry in high school any more , even though back in the day when I was teaching calculus at The University of Florida, we didn't allow calculators because we made them *think*.

So I've been busy. Hope to see you in October!
