Now THIS sounds like my kinda trip! No planes involved.

You know it. The Rockies, LA, Las Vegas, San fran, Utah, Colorado in a van that we can sleep in with a fridge and a hibachi. Used to do that in my 20's The US trip is on my wish list so it will happen soon!

A motor home would kill us on the gas. My parents bought one and never used it because the gas was so much. Also such a pain maneuvering it.
Has it occurred to you sweet Ali, that when we sleep on the trains, the bathrooms are not private, no shower and leave something to be desired? In fact by morning, they are downright nasty! Can you deal without a private bath on the nights on the train?
