My ultra Conservative ex-brother in law sent me this link to make me crabier. It implies that all left wing Liberals , like myself, score poorly on things like economic tests compared to Conservatives, Libertarian, or Republicans...

It has nothing to do with being "smarter" or intelligence. The main difference between liberals and conservatives is the application of "common sense". Conservative usually apply it, liberals usually don't.

Those a questions for which there are no definitive answers and the "correct" answer is largely a matter of opinion. The answers could only be arrived at empircally. All you could do is look at situations in the past, see how they've worked out, and kinda sorta project how they would work out in the future. A sort of conventional wisdom may take shape, but I think we all know that conventional wisdom comes crashing down time and time again. This is bogus. All you really get out of this is that liberals and conservatives favor different economic policies, which we already know.

P.S. sorry you have to deal with your ex BIL sending you such nonsense.

My gripe with this test is that they've taken essay questions and turned them into multiple choice.

This is true of most things related to economics and fiscal policy. Its kind of like the climate and can't be accurately modeled because there are far too many unknown variables.

No one can come up with a model, which, when run retrograde actually consistently matches what happened.

(This is also true of the all of the pseudo-sciences: sociology, psychology, phrenology, etc...)

LOL I was referring to THIS page - this THREAD. I said to myself, that's an unproductive name of a thread - don't go there/waste of time. But I came, I saw and I only came back because I saw you posted. NO NO, I didn't go to any page/link referenced on this thread. I've got so much PRODUCTIVE work to do that this child's play of calling one group smart and the other not is ridiculous.

Debating a political issue is fine. But this is useless....
