My Big Red was Hook before the 1st bar in early May. Saw several cruising beyond the bar before I hook one. Which shook me off after 10 min. I won't give up my Lure of choice but they are out there. Mornings are best. Biggest I've caught off the Beach was up to my waist(I am 6'2') so say 34 to 36 inches. Same lure by the way!!! But Big Cobias and Tarpon are not unheard of too.

What did you use to cathc the red? Was it a spoon, if so, what kind/

I wanna know about the lures too. I use sand fleas, but have only caught Pompano. Not that that was a bad thing. Seen Reds caught on cut bait.

Gold Spoon and that's as far as i can go. Only Ladyfish today but saw a school of something better swim by the end of the fist bar. good luck all

I saw two guys out near Ed Walline this morning. Was one of them you? I saw one guy had three fish on shore. Standing out about waist deep casting over the sandbar.
