Windjammer Cruises...

Anybody done one. Got any advise for a couple of Otters going on their 1st cruise :idontno:

Windjammer is a barefoot sailing cruise line. Not the Carnival style cruises.

Do you work with the crew? Or just look at your barefeet?

I've known a few people that have gone. Supposed to be very nice, beautiful scenery, etc., no working, just relaxing while watching the crew work. They serve you drinks, dinner. It is sort of tight sleeping quarters, tho. But it's the gorgeous views. If you love to sail, it's the perfect gift!

Take your fishing rod and a beer coozie with a wide bottom so it won't go rolling off the deck. You'll thank me later.

From what I've heard no working. You do have to figure out how to get on the hammock while holding a rum drink in one hand and a cuban cigar in the other though

Sounds super duper....I'd need the Dramamine though. Kitty no like the boats that sway. One of my BFs lives on a 47 ft. sailboat and she is very mad at me because I am having trouble commiting to meeting them for a sail. I have run out of options...I am looking into an inner ear transplant.

Word is one is less likely to get seasick on a sailing ship because while underway it doesn't rock as much :idontno:

I used to get queasy on some of the fishing trips we would go on. I figured out the trick. If the boat leaves at 5 AM for a 12 hour trip, start drinking beer at 3 am and don't stop until your feet are back on the dock.

I personally think seasickess is 75% mental. If you sit there thinking you're gonna get sick, you're gonna get sick. If you're half drunk, you're not thinking about much at all. Catch my drift? It works like a charm.

Have you tried a patch--can be a lot better than Dramamine.

Stay outta the cabin. If you lose sight of the horizon, that's when the trouble starts. And don't hold on to the boat in rough water. Use your ankles to keep yourself steady.

I guess I should have tried that at Publix the other night.
