Woe is me

For an achilles tear, reinjury is a bigger concern than with something like a fracture, so you have to be very careful. If you reinjure it and they have to reattach it again, they have less to work with, so your chances of getting back full range of motion really decline. That was my biggest concern during the first couple of weeks. After about 3 weeks I was able to start bearing partial weight with a cast on. I was still on crutches. I was even able to work the clutch in my car with my injured foot. I only did rehab for a couple of weeks, maybe five sessions. One thing that helped is that I was able to go inline skating almost immediately. The doc said it was OK. The stiff boot protects the achilles from injury. I couldn't do any running for six months though.

Sorry to hear about this, Allifunn. It was so good to see you in August and it's too bad to picture you an achilles tear. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Just checking in and up dating. Had surgery Tuesday. All went well and Sacred Heart is a great hospital. The staff was good and the care was excellent. I am recovering nicely. Not too much pain. I go for my post op next Friday, but hope to get around more before then.
Tootsie and Kurt are taking very good care of me!
My tennis team sent me beautiful flowers!
I will be glad to be mobile again!
