Worst Halloween Candy or trick or treat item

New posts
BR, you've probably already thought of this but...what about camping out in the driveway with a few chairs and maybe a fire pit? I don't know if that would be an "in" thing to do in your neighborhood but you could monitor the lawn, no one sees inside the house and you would get to see the trick or treaters. I know, have your 6'8" husband hand out the candy. Surely, no one would want to mess with him! My hubby is 6'4" and I bet he looks short next to yours. LOL

Ocean Lover, that's a great idea! There are a few people in our neighborhood who do that and it looks like fun, and we always mean to try it but we never do. Maybe this year???

BR, you and your husband need to do this in costume. Like if your friends are already calling you Ma Clampett, then how about taking the idea and running with it?? You could sit in your driveway with tattered duds and an old apron...and a great big shotgun. So could Mr. BR. An old hat and an aw shucks kind of grin on his face...and a great big shotgun. I doubt you'd have any trouble. And you might have a lot of fun turning the tables on any wannabe oportunistic little thugs.

I think the neighbors would think we'd gone bat-sh*t crazy. :floor: They also turn their lights off to discourage trick-or-treaters because they're scared too. It's total blackout in our neighborhood on Halloween.

Yes, and hand out carmel apples on a stick for the treats.:floor:

That would make me want to do it twice as much. It's boring to live life like everyone expects you to. Step on the wild side--the batty side--and give 'em something to talk about! :clap_1:

Heck yeah, girl! Keep 'em guessing, and just when you think they figured it out, shake it up a bit.

That's hilarious! Can we legally sit outside with shotguns?

Why couldn't you? Just don't wield them as a threat, and don't conceal them. Sounds like you may need to check your deed restrictions for your hood, too.:floor:Don't be surprised if someone pulls out their own gun in self-defense, or if they try to steal your gun. I think you should have an old straw broom instead, and your hubby could have the corn cobb pipe.

My goodness I didn't mean a real gun! I meant something like a prop that you'd get at a costume store. But authentic enough looking that in the dark of the Halloween night would be frightful to those with evil thoughts in their heads...

Just as an extra little tangent, years ago we lived in Kennesaw, Georgia. It made news headlines when citizens were required to have a handgun. Oddly enough, though you were supposed to own a gun, you weren't supposed to shoot it in city limits! Go figure.

Now back to Halloween candy. :D
