What if it's a man type?I think I'm deja-vu'ing!
Does it make a whistling noise when he breathes? That might get annoying as the evening progresses and the breathing gets heavier. Tough call.

No, mainly because lying takes so much more effort than telling the truth. 
If they are truly your friend they will appreciate the truth - though tact and timing are always key.

There are definitely times when it is appropriate to lie but you have to weigh long and short term consequences as well as the odds of getting caught lying. Getting caught is the worst because not only does he/she know the awful truth, he knows you're a pucking liar. But if you know you won't get caught and the truth serves no useful purpose, then you need to draw on everything your parents taught you 
and come up with a doozy. Seriously, psychologists say that people who lack the ability or willingness to lie under any circumstances, may have a mental defect. Lying is a natural innate ability and it's as important for normal development as is speaking, walking, and reading. Think of all the times you've said "Sure I'll be there", and then you don't show up. LIAR!!!! Then you come up with some flimsy excuse. LIAR!!! Lynnie, this post is not aimed at you in particular (LIAR!)
