Wrist Pain

To those of you (& you know who you are) who have 100's, even 1,000's of posts, you MUST have wrist pain! My "mouse hand" is in so much pain and I'm sure it's from mousing so much on Sowal.com! Using the roller is the killer! I now am using a wrist brace! But the problem is I have to finish laying out a huge newsletter for my job by tomorrow! I may have to actually give my wrist and Sowal.com a rest so I can finish my job! :(

BTW, it is 1 degree outside w/ windchill of 20 below.

Rotate mouse hands. It feels wierd at first, but it makes you more well-rounded, and relieves the wrist pain. My mouse wrist used to hurt, but it was probably more from working on some other computer stuff which consumed most of my days. More recently, I built a computer desk which ergonomically fits me better than any which I have seen. It is fairly simple, but perfect, and now no more wrist pain.:D

I was afraid that I'd have to resort to using my left hand. I have started using the up/down arrows on the keyboard instead of the roller. It all just takes so much longer!

FTLOG...don't give up Sowal.com!!! I am sorry you are in pain..is this that carpal tunnel syndrome?

I hate to tell you this...I have NO pain in my hands or wrists (but, OH my back and neck!!) and therefore, I have the ability to annoy y'all continuously! Stop that eye rolling and moaning immediately!!!

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005853X/103-3694495-0212631?v=glance&n=172282"]Gotta get one[/ame] - takes some getting used to but will eliminate all pain. To use it you want a good chair so that you can adjust your arm so there is no strain and it rests naturally on the mouse.

Another solution more expensive :

When I saw the title, I thought you were going to talk about Christmas cards! I've been plugging away at mine all morning and my wrist is killing me. I'm just not used to writing by hand any more and my hand is worn out. No wonder holiday e-cards are so popular.

Thanks Fox. My mouse is almost identical to yours. I think I've been Sowalin' too much! I will have to get used to using my left hand some. Mr. JR had to learn to use both hands a few years back. Now he's ambidextrous with the mouse! It was either that or change careers!

But don't you just hate it tho when you have a few people who REFUSE to communicate by email??? I have one friend who just refuses to get with the times. She feels people are "losing touch", etc. Drives me insane. So, unfortunately, she's the one that's missing out.

If you are using a thumb ball mouse and you have wrist pain then you have a problem with ergonomics - ie - the position of your wrist and arm. You have to figure a way to get your arm, wrist and hand to be totally relaxed and natural like it is just resting on the mouse with no strain whatsoever.

I think you are correct about that! I'm always rasing and lowering my chair in an effort to get my arm in differnet positions. Maybe I'll just go buy your mouse today and see if it IS different than mine. I work from home and buying a whole new desk set up, chair, etc., would most likely not be an option, in my husband's mind. I'll start with the $20 mouse 1st!
Thanks! (God, my wrist is THROBBING!!!!)
