The Surge Worked- Now Admit the GM thing is Looking Good...

Could someone please explain the difference between tax cuts for the rich and bailouts?

If only the rich get the cut then there is no difference. If everyone gets the cut then how is it fair if the rich do not get it also?

As to working rich and idle rich, one works for what they have and the other lives off something someone worked to make and gave them. Sort of like the difference between the working poor and the idle poor.

Bad news for GM - Consumer Reports slams the new Volt -

"When you are looking at purely dollars and cents, it doesn't really make a lot of sense. The Volt isn't particularly efficient as an electric vehicle and it's not particularly good as a gas vehicle either in terms of fuel economy," said David Champion, the senior director of Consumer Reports auto testing center at a meeting with reporters here. "This is going to be a tough sell to the average consumer."

This is disappointing. We need good options to get off our dependence. I thought for sure this would be it.

Why is there a limit to the amount spent to save a job, but when it comes to saving a barrel of oil we can spend our grand children into bankruptcy?

It's not about saving oil as much as paying for a barrel of oil that is much more dangerous to our grand kids.

Your grandkids should be accepting the fact that they will probably be the last generation to drive or fly a gas powered machine.

Except both the working poor and the idle poor are seen as a drain on society by Conservatives.

They had a fleet of electric taxis in Manhattan starting in 1897 - until a fire destroyed most of them and the Panic of '07 made it hard to rebuild. (Jay Leno has one.)

Bloomberg is trying to bring them back to reduce noise and pollution.

Some just refuse to see anything but oil.

I hope that's true.

They are, which is why we are constantly trying to reform the systems progressives create that lock them into their current financial position.
