Question: What would you love to have in SoWal?

A free shuttle to the Apple Store that is next to a Chic-Fil-a that is served by buried power lines would be perfect.

How about a low cost shuttle along roads with buried power lines that would take you to a place (Destin/Miramar sprawl) that is more in keeping with an Apple Store and a Chic-fil-a?

My dream is to have a 30-A Czar, who's sole mission is beautify 30-A, and keep it beautiful. I see so much that could be done: planting grass, where there is serious erosion, removing unneeded asphalt (defunk parts of the bikepath) removal of unnecessary signs, removal of unnessary crosshatch lines, adding of crisp clean lane lines for bikepath., rerouting bikepath so it flows without abrupt right angle turns, use brick pavers at all bikepath crosswalks. We spend so much of our time on this road, and it could look so grand...

And deputies on bikes instead of in cars- all up and down 30A- "gently" reminding people of general traffic rules (for cars, bikes, and pedestrians) and ticketing the asshats*who clearly think the rules don't apply to them.

More culture! I hail originally from Mpls./St. Paul area and spent some time in Chicago where there is an abundance of music venues, theaters (I'm not referring to movie theaters, lol), museums, arboretums, zoo's, parks...well you get the point. Having said that, I'm still pretty damn happy here! :) Oh, and Cottons produce on 3280 and 331 does have some good veggies and fruit.

Do you know there is a professional theater on the Panhandle? Four main stage shows a year, films, music, and other programming year round, plus 4 outdoor children's shows, an intern program, and currently working on expanding the theater educational opportunities in Walton County (beyond the beach corridor, this area is underserved by the arts). The Seaside Repertory Theatre would love to have your support! www.seasiderep.org

I think there is a ton of music here for the size of the community- multiple options every night of the week. And that is just on 30A.

I have to say that there are so many options for fun around here that I got worn out trying to keep up with them all!

I am indeed familiar with the seaside rep. and the local music. I was referring venues. I don't go to bars (typically where you can catch local music) and parking along 30A during an event proves challenging.

I agree we need more venues and variety. There is an awful lot of undeveloped talent in our area and more venues would help. First Note Music Hall offers a nice alternative but I wish they would focus more on local artists. Also, Amore has live music on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings as well as karaoke on Saturdays. While they do serve beer and wine, it is a family friendly venue.
