30A needs a face lift

Beach Fanatic
I'm driving home tonight and I catch myself going into the other lane in the Blue Mountain Beach area because the double yellow line disappeared on me.
I mean what the heck happened to it?
I hadn't even had a drink.........then I start to notice heading towards Dune Allen most of the double yellow lines have either been worn off or are just gone in some areas.
The plot thickens, now I find myself actually checking it out "all" the way home and even the white lines on either side of the road have faded out.

I'm thinking to myself this is an accident waiting to happen to a tourist. They could run off the road and hit one of our "monster signs", especially someone that isn't as familar with 30A as I am.

I feel this is very dangerous and should be taken care of immediately!
I am surprised the DOT hasn't moved on this before now.

Have any of you Sowallers noticed this? :idontno:

Hey out there..............

Am I the only one that has taken notice to this?

No. I just read the above post, but last night, as I was driving along 30A in BMB area, I too noticed as I was driving in the bike lane, that no white line was visible. Maybe the lines are there, but they aren't showing up at night.

Exactly, and imagine what the inebriated folks driving on 30A (after 10 PM at least 50% of them are probably drunk) must "not" see as far as traffic lines are concerned.

I also checked it out this morning on my way to work and the white lines are barely visible that run parallel with the bike path. Also some of the yellow lines have faded out in some areas.

I truly believe this is very dangerous.

SJ.........have any idea why DOT hasn't started working on these issues?

jinx! I just saw that you posted this last night, and I noticed the missing lines about 11pm last night. You owe me a Coke.

I don't know why the DOT doesn't seem to monitor that road. Is 30A a County Road, rather than a State Road? I'm not sure. While on the subject, have you also noticed that on the stretch of 30 in Blue Mtn around The Pines, there is a bike path shoulder on the road, but only along the eastern path. There is no bike lane if you are heading west. (I'm not talking about the multi-use path, which is often incorrectly noted as the "bike path."). Interestingly, along the length of 30A, that area is the only place I have seen a bike ln on the shoulder of the road, and why it is only on one side, I have no idea.
