Adventures of a Single Dad

You guys are absolutely right about spending of money. I've always managed to budget well and have lived on little. I am blessed with liquid capital right now, but a modest amount relative to... well, it's modest.

And I know that the best things in life are free, but I sure would love to bless my kids with something special. I am disciplined enough and don't intend on going on a spending spree. Heck, I could buy them something nice for what it would cost to go and eat one night with a date at a nice restaurant, so I'm good.

I've just been extended a few days here in Dallas. Most of us will be gone by Friday but they asked that I stick around for a few more days.

Speaking of this area... man, there are a lot of prostitutes here. I guess in any city and the money that is around a city, that element is attracted. But it is everywhere and not the 'high end' type either. I'm glad to live along 30-A where it is clean and void of that element.

But, it is interesting to see different areas and absorb culture and just see how things are. The new Dallas stadium is going up over here. I can't tell if it is attractive or a monstrosity. It is right by Ranger stadium which is nice.

At the wal-Mart the other day (where I got my hair cut-ouch-remember I work from 7 to 7 so it's the only place I could find) I was one of the few Casucasians in the store. I felt like I was in Mexico. I could see it as very advantageous to speak Spanish here.

And if any of you get a chance to eat at SaltGrass here in Texas, I highly recommend it. It is a steak place but their bread and butter to start the meal damn near steals the show.

Well, it was nice to steal a few minutes here checking in with you guys. I miss things but try not to think about it. The weather is cool over here right now and I can just imagine kayaking in a dune lake like this. Oh man, I need to banish those thoughts and carry on.

Bless all!

The link and its portrait of the stadium are fabulous. But situated like it is, for some reason to me, it seems out of place a bit. Maybe once it is all done it will seem to 'fit' nicer. But in and of itself it is quite a specimen. It might be because of the Wal-Mart next to it or all of the equipment around it. I'm not sure. But in the link you sent, the way they show it, it comes off much better.
