Good tip, and on the mark! (though high end image management tools - kurt grade stuff -will compensate for you).
Hey, I didn't get a Ph.D. at THE University of Florida without acquiring knowledge or acquiring the skills to learn things that didn't exist when I was in grad school. UF taught me how to THINK (as did my beloved Tulane).

I see what's going on here. Ganging up on the otter ... eh?
Well fooey - I have a few odd freebie image twiddling tools and/or links too them , but at work (and I'm not there now).

Try this:
Open folder containing your picture (.bmp).
Double-click on the file - should open in "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer".
Down on the toolbar (bottom frame), click on the little paintbrush lookin icon (should be just to the right if the little diskette icon). That will open the image file for editing (in paint, if you haven't installed some other editor, like MS PhotoEditor, etc.).
Once open in paint, you can save it in jpeg form.

Do beware of paint for general purposes though - it is generally a pretty k-mart kinda tool...

...and that, my friend, as I have learned over many years, is quite the rarity, whether piledhigheranddeeper or not <wink> (no offense intended, BTW ;-) interaction with the otter over time has brought out the chain puller in me  )

Any title on the top frame?

(I get pretty confused about what's built in and what's not. Usually after an OS load I PDQ drop in a premium Office load so I lose track...)
